The new 2025 Mickey 17 Hollywood Comedy Movie is written, produced, and directed by Bong Joon Ho. The story is based on the 2022 novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. The film stars Robert Pattinson as Mickey Barnes, the main character, along with Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Patsy Ferran, Cameron Britton, Daniel Henshall, Stephen Park, Anamaria Vartolomei, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.
The plot follows Mickey Barnes, who becomes an “Expendable” on a space colony. An Expendable is a worker who is cloned every time he dies, with his memories restored through a process called “reprinting.” Mickey joins the mission to escape the influence of a dangerous loan shark, along with his friend Timo. They travel to the icy planet Niflheim, where Mickey takes on the risky role of an Expendable, while Timo becomes a shuttle pilot.

Story
During the journey, Mickey begins a romance with Nasha, a security agent on the ship. After four years, the spaceship lands on Niflheim. The scientists on board conduct experiments on Mickey, leading to the creation of a vaccine against the planet’s dangerous pathogens. The seventeenth version of Mickey is sent to capture native creatures known as “Creepers,” but he falls into a fissure. Timo manages to retrieve Mickey’s flamethrower but leaves him behind out of convenience. The Creepers, instead of eating Mickey, carry him to the surface.

Upon returning to the ship, Mickey is shocked to find that an aggressive version of himself, Mickey 18, has been created. The mission leader, politician Kenneth Marshall, has promised that if multiple clones are created, all clones will be destroyed. Furious at this, Mickey 18 tries to kill Mickey 17, but the two decide to work together to survive by rotating duties and deaths.
They are interrupted when they see Timo selling flamethrower fuel as drugs. Mickey 18 confronts Timo, but is stopped when Nasha intervenes. Mickey 18 leaves with Nasha, while Mickey 17 is invited to dinner with Marshall, his wife Ylfa, and security agent Kai. At dinner, Mickey 17 reacts badly to experimental food and painkillers, and Kai saves him from being executed. However, Mickey 17 flees back to Nasha when Kai tries to seduce him.
Nasha comes to terms with the existence of the clones, but Kai discovers them and attempts to report them. When Mickey 17 tells Mickey 18 about the dinner incident, Mickey 18 becomes enraged and decides to kill Marshall during a public event. At the ceremony, two baby Creepers emerge from a rock, causing chaos. Mickey 17 captures one of the Creepers, but the other is killed when it startles Marshall. Nasha stops Mickey 18 from killing Marshall, but the existence of the clones is exposed, leading to the arrest of Mickey 17, 18, and Nasha.
Meanwhile, thousands of Creepers gather outside the ship, demanding the release of Zoco. In the brig, Mickey 17’s description of the Creepers helping him makes Nasha realize they are intelligent. Timo arrives to kill Mickey 17 at the order of the loan shark’s agent on the mission. Mickey 18 offers to take the blame in a ruse, allowing Nasha to escape and overpower Timo. However, security guards intervene and take them all to Marshall.
Marshall announces a plan to eliminate the Creepers and destroys Mickey’s memory backups to stop him from being cloned again. Ylfa persuades Marshall to take the Mickeys outside and compete for the rights to use Creeper tails in food, with the winner allowed to survive. The Mickeys are given explosive vests to ensure their cooperation.
Outside, the Mickeys search for the Creepers’ leader. Marshall follows with a security team to eliminate them and the Creepers when they fail to complete the task. Mickey 17 uses a translation device to warn the mother Creeper about Marshall’s plan. The mother demands the release of Zoco and the sacrifice of a human for the death of Luko. Mickey 17 signals to Nasha to free Zoco. She takes Ylfa hostage to ensure Zoco’s release, and the security agents, secretly working against Marshall, arrest Ylfa. Mickey 18 fights Marshall and detonates his vest, killing both himself and Marshall to meet the Creepers’ demands.

After this, Mickey 17 and the rest of the expedition make peace with the Creepers. Marshall and Ylfa’s collaborators are brought to justice, and Ylfa kills herself. The loan shark’s associate attacks Timo, but Timo kills him in self-defense and uses the incident to testify against the loan shark. Nasha joins the colony’s leadership. With spring arriving, Mickey 17, now known again as Mickey Barnes, destroys the cloning device, ending the Expendable program.
