Plot
For nearly three decades, Carl Nargle has hosted Vermont’s most popular painting show. His status as a hotshot of public telecom is tested while the striving Television slot employs Ambrosia, a more youthful painter who has more expertise and flexibility than Carl.
His timeslot is immediately taken over by her as is his capacity to entice his colleagues. After an embarrassing fundraising campaign, the station manager fires Carl and hires him to teach painting classes at a nearby college, but he is too depressed to teach. When he realizes that he has been a foolish and vain playboy, Katherine, the true love of his life, comes to his aid. Katherine realizes that she has wasted her life waiting for his approval. The two admit their adoration to each other as Carl’s horse shelter unintentionally burns to the ground, passing on the town to accept that he is dead, when as a general rule, he is carrying on with a basic existence with Katherine.
